South Suburbia
Homeschool Group

Our homeschooling support group founded by the needs of unschoolers to provide ample time and opportunity for children to be together, to play, to develop strong
"It is... nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for this delicate little plant, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom; without this it goes to wreak and ruin. It is a very grave mistake to think that the enjoyment of seeing and searching can be promoted by means of coercion and a sense of duty."

--Albert Einstein

South Suburbia Homeschoolers Group is a Non-Directed Homeschool Support Group located in Colorado in and around Douglas County.

The focus of this group is to provide a social and educational outlet for parents and children. We have a variety of activies for everything you are looking for in a homeschool group. Including weekly get-togethers, co-ops and field trips.

Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly environment for our children to socialize and develop friendships. Since there is no group "leader" everyone is welcome, and encouraged, to plan activities and provide input into group direction.

The SSHG.org includes families with children ranging in age from infant through high school. We are a group comprised of a variety of families with different learning styles. Everyone's views on education are different and that is the fun of the group. Everyone is welcome; from unschoolers to those using home-based Charter schools.

We meet at various locations throughout South Suburbia Area and Denver. Including Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Centennial, DTC, Greenwood Village and Denver for field trips and park days.
